Electrocompaniet is best known as a leading manufacturer of high-end sound equipment largely used in recording studios.
The company is entering a new market with the introduction of EC Living, a line of home audio products: compact high-end, wireless speakers that can live on the kitchen counter, in the living room, the bedroom, etc..
It is a modular system where you build or change the speakers as desired. One can easily supplement with additional speaker units as part of a larger house system or to simply to provide more sound in a given room. All content is streamed and controlled through one’s mobile phone, tablet or handheld system remote. Initially, EC Living speakers come in copper, black aluminum, natural aluminum, wood and plastic (in 3 colors). Modularity was the main design focus during the project, Montaag developed and designed the EC Living hardware, as well as the user-interface for the system’s controls.
