Twinkler - An Animated Short

The concept was inspired by the fun fact that my father told us about Christmas bulbs. He said that Christmas lights work on a series circuit wherein each and every bulb has to be connected and working in order for the whole cable to work. The rest of the bulbs are just ordinary bulbs that turn on when an electric current is applied to them. There is one kind of bulb, however, that is special. It could go on and off because of how it was designed. It could stop the current, or letting it flow to the other bulbs, controling the blinking of the whole cable. My father calls it the “Twinkler.”

In our first day of animation class, our professor, Miss Beam, told us that it is important to have a basic idea that your animated story has to communicate. It has to be short, simple, and straight to the point despite how long the animated film will be. For example, the basic idea of 101 Dalmatians is "Save the puppies." For my animation I chose "Be proud of how God made you."

My short story intends to show people that they are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by God. In His, infinite wisdom, God has a purpose for why you are created that way. You are not a mistake.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well."
