Esterline Story Wall at Raisbeck High School

Esterline, an International manufacturer of controls and equipment, commissioned MCD to design a story wall for Raisbeck Aviation High School, a Seattle area STEM school with an aviation and aerospace focus and instructors who are industry experts.
In our initial design discussions, both client and design firm focused on profiling three current Esterline team members students might identify with to help them understand there are many career choices available in the aviation and aerospace fields.
MCD designed the story wall, art directed the photo shoot with photographer Scott Areman and completed postproduction of the photos and mural.
Here’s a “behind the scenes” look at the photo shoot, and the design process.
Mary, one of the Esterline marketing team standing in for the models as Scott fine-tunes the lighting.
Setting up the first shot in a Conference room, Mary adjusts the hair of the first subject, an engineer and customer service rep.
For the second photo, an equipment bench created an authentic background.
This high school student is interning at the company with an interest in IT. We choose the tight quarters of one of the server rooms for the photos.
