How work and creator interact with each other
This work was the final project for the Design Methodologies class at SCAD during winter quarter 2011. The task was to somehow visualize our creative process, without limitations as to the medium we used.
During my time at SCAD, I came to realize the effect that projects have on me as a person. Research about certain topics for projects has changed the way I think about different things, also pushing me to grow as both a person and a designer. At the same time, I learned how much of my own personality can be expressed in my own work.
I wanted to express this interdependency between the designer and his work. How every project changes him in one way or another, while he always injects something of himself into the work. Therefore, I created a series of masks showing my face, each referencing a different project I had worked on as part of the class, to show how each project has changed me, while you can still tell, that is a part of me that I added to the mix, my personal interpretation of the brief or the way I use my craft.
