ABC Typography - Futura

The task
The whole class got the task to make a ABC-book about typography, each one presenting one font chosen by the teacher. We were to make a spread that should contain a few samples of the font, a text about the font and some design that we chose ourselves. I had the choice between Franklin Gothic and Futura, and, as you see, I chose Futura by Paul Renner.
Idea nr. 1:
My first idea is playing on the fact that Futura is the font used on a plaquete left on the Moon after the Apollo 11 expidition. it's simply a field of stars, and a short slogan explaining that Futura is out there. It also get a double meaning since Futura was the first sans serif to be widely accepted it's still uset throughout the world to day, hence: it's out there.
Idea nr. 2:
My second is that Futura is a lucky outcome, considering how Paul Renner actually wanted the font to look. It was only consisting of strict geometric figures, and looked...special. Luckily he agreed to make som changes and created a rather good font in stead.
This is the more informative, less experimental-page of the spread in the task. It's four samples of the first four selections Renner made, and a short text about Futura and Renner (also explaining that Futura is on the Moon). The font used in the text is Adobe Minion Pro.

Unfortunatly I used less time on the text than the rest of the task, but I'm still quite pleased with it.

Of my two ideas I chose idea nr. 2, I like the simplicity and the story behind it, and the fact that it shows the letter f, that kinda was a demand in the task.
