The Lightrunner is a game based on an old concept. It was developed in a student team of 12 over the course of 16 working days. The game had integrated Analytics to get feedback on what players were doing remotely. The Lightrunner was prepared to actually launch in to the world with a: facebook page, website, forum, and a bug report tool.

The Lightrunner is a immersive, story driven player experience with an emphasis on suspense, mixed with intense action moments. The player controls a Lightrunner, whose job it is to go into the extremely barren and hostile world in order to find and salvage materials and technologies and bring them back to the outposts to ensure the survival of mankind. In this world the enemies, and even the air, are hostile and can only be defeated using weapons of light.

The gameplay is turn based with strategic shooter elements, the twist is that each turn is very short. The concept aimed at balancing the player between twitch gameplay and tactical decisions as to maximize suspense. The player's life is dependent on energy through a passive light shield but their weapons and gadgets also use energy forcing the player to choose wisely wether to fight or run
.
The analytics showed us where players were going, how long they stayed in areas but also what players did within a turn.
