Based on an illustration by my friend and colleague, Roberto Pita, The Muffin Fairy is the first of hopefully many, many weekend sculpts to come, with the main focus being on translating the 2d design into 3d. Due to work commitments during the week, the idea Roberto and I had, was to try and do these over a weekend, therefore the limited time forces you to make decisions regarding how far to take certain things. Overall, its just a hell of alot of fun.
All character design is courteousy of my friend Roberto Pita, who is an extremely talented animator and illustrator. Lucky for me, he also doesn't mind me taking a swing at translating his work.
All 3d content is generated by myself, including throwing together some FX for the fairy dust.
In short, sculpted and retopologised (when needed) in ZBrush, brought into Houdini where the lighting was laid down and the fairy dust generated.
