This Pin & Thread Calendar is a conceptual calendar that was created in fall 2011 for an assignment at the University of South Carolina.
Pin & Thread Calendar
conceptual calendar created for a school assignment
The assignment for this project was to create a calendar without using any day or month names traditionally associated with calendars. My Pin & Thread calendar consists of 366 nails (one functioning as a starting nail). The use loops the string across two nails each day of the year, in a pattern of their own choosing. On December 31st, the calendar becomes an eye-catching piece of art to hang on the wall for the year to come. In this way, the calendar serves the function of marking the passage of each day while also giving the user a visual goal for the end of the year that can be appreciated in the year to come.
