The Broad-edge pen is where it all starts for Western Calligraphy. It is not as popular with graphic design clients (who favor less traditional, "expressive" letters) as it was. Still, I do not wish to dismiss this approach, as within the realm of so-called traditional calligraphy, there is still a chance for great variety and warmth. Here is a small sampling.
