{ A STUDENT PROJECT FOR THE NEW YORK SCHOOL OF INTERIOR DESIGN }
The requisite for this project was to design a spa that was part of a hotel located in Ferrol, Spain. This hotel would be a fitness/health reatreat spot. The spa could be located on any of the building's floors and would be used by those staying at the hotel and locals in the area.
Ferrol, Spain is a coastal town whose main industries rely on this prime coastal location. The spa hoped to utilize water in unique and theraputic ways for guests of all ages and physical capabilities. Because of this, the goal was to create a spa that had elements that spoke to the feeling of being under water. Coral reefs were used as inspiration for creating organic shapes in the space along with pops of bright color. The idea of transparency was also worked with in both individual rooms and between floors.
