A venture investor, Jean-Jacques Degroof holds a PhD and master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a student in the Sloan School of Management. Jean-Jacques Degroof continues to support his alma mater by actively participating as an educational counselor in the MIT Educational Council.
With history dating back to 1931, the MIT Educational Council was created to support and act as a liaison between students, educators, secondary institutions, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The organization works in conjunction with the offices of admissions and alumni to establish a well-rounded admittance process that integrates students’ input.
The council relies heavily on the support of educational counselors, whose duties include recruiting, interviewing, and serving as a community resource. Educational counselors host and participate in various activities throughout the year, including informal meetings for prospective students to learn more about the institution, and local central meetings to speak with guidance counselors and interested students.
