I decided to try out a reusable magnetic UI kit for user workshop paper prototyping activities.  Instead of cutting out buttons and bits from paper, participants selected magnets to stick onto magnetic sheets with phone templates drawn on them.  Both the phone  templates and magnets could be written on with whiteboard marker so participants mixed placing magnets with drawing and writing text with ease.

It proved to be a fun and effective way for the participants to share their visions for app design.
In future, I'll make everything a couple sizes bigger to make it easier for users with larger hands to wrok with.

Materials: For the magnets, I bought the digital Sticker UI Kit by Killer, Inc., reworked it to suit my needs, and then printed it onto magnetic paper (eg. Kodak).  I then laminated the magnet sheets to make them write-on, cut out the individual magets with sharp scissors, and provided them in an organized box along with magnetic rubber whiteboard sheets.  I drew phone template outlines on these whiteboard sheets beforehand.
