It's taken me a long while to get around to giving modelling in StudioMax a go. I've often used it for rendering but have never used it professionally as each studio I have worked in have always used Maya, but circumstances have called for me to pick it up, so this is my first attempt at modelling, UVing and rendering in Max.
Time was of the essence, so I picked the first object that came to hand (a Clipper lighter) and got modelling. I then built a simple fish bowl, duplicated the lighter a number of times and then ran a simple physics simulation to drop them all into the bowl to give an accurate distribution, but also to save me a load of time in piling them all up by hand.
