Chutes & Ladders Flash Game

The Will of Wellington Montgomery

Jeffrey, Susanne, Abigail and William Montgomery were family, but they didn't act like it, nor would they ever admit it.

A childhood mishap on National Fruitcake Day 1947 left them living as far away from one another as possible. Years later, their beloved uncle, Wellington Montgomery, was savagely ripped apart and eaten by a school of hammerhead sharks in the Caribbean. After a phone call from a distraught maid, they discovered that they had all been chosen to receive his mansion. This was no mistake, as Uncle Montgomery had always tried to mend the bridge the four had burned long ago.

Soon after, they dressed in their finest, turned up their noses and reluctantly met up to check the place out and see what they could make of their potential fortune. Turns out, Uncle Montgomery had left them nothing but a decrepit and outdated piece of real estate in a run down neighborhood.  As the four make their way through drafty hallways, their greedy dispositions begin to get the best of them.

After choosing a character, tug at the flickering chandelier to reveal the number of flames that will still be lit or pull the lever on the tension gauge to discover the numerical value congruent to the intensity of their current state of mind. Whatever the case, advance the proper number of floorboards on the game board. Along the way, grand spiral staircases may spring your character forward in the game or you may be met with a faulty elevator that sends your character backward. For added thrill and complexity, change the game board by clicking either the telephone, clock, or mirror to expose another level of Uncle Montgomery's hoard.
