Architecture & Design Centre, London Road Fire Station, Manchester, UK _
The project resides in Central Manchester within the early 20th Century Victorian Baroque London Road Fire Station, previously home to various public sector professions. By being a stones throw away from Piccadilly train station the design offers strong connections across the country for budding designers. The Project intends to utilises these connections, by offering a creative centre of design and architecture to facilitate the heavily designer based local community and surrounding areas.
‘Breaking the Mould’ attempts to do just that, by providing facilities and opportunities to develop occupants further in there career by integrating them into a nourishing community based environment. Therefore, developing skilled individuals that encourage, promote and motivate excellence.
