Video done for the second semester of the Brazilian Literature course in Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, which I'm attending. We were supposed to choose a poem or a short story of a brazilian author and turn it into an audiovisual assignment. I decided to take this as an opportunity to awake my scarce skills in animation, that were in a sort of hiatus for two years now. Had lots of work, but it was so much fun doing this (especially since I had a great excuse to visit the seaside)!
Beautiful Porto is beautiful.
For a short intro, I drew over the original moustache by Elisa von Randow and did a very simple animation.
The seaside footage had no other support than my trembling hands holding the camera. Imported it to Adobe Flash and animated the poem on it. Credits were also drawn in Flash.
Font used is Helvetica, a clean font exactly as I had imagined.
Music is an original by a friend, Ricardo, mixed with the sound of sea waves from Free Sound.
It's my first time doing this, but I'm dedicating the short video to my grandparents. It was the thought of them that made me decide to go with this poem.
