I was asked by a friend to illustrate perhaps Mortal Kombat's most iconic character, Scorpion. With that theme established I needed to illustrate an opponent for him to fight, so who better than Street Fighter favourite Ryu. 

 

I used this piece to tackle several core illustration skills I felt I needed to improve upon- namely a more graphic colour scheme, dynamic characters and advanced halftone shading. The piece would be designed for future screen printing and utilise no more than five seperate colours.
