Dynamic progression VI

Using the 3D extrude in Illustrator. I created a few appealing shapes that might go well together - trying to draw a relationship between each shape. Even at this early stage, I tried to make a simple composition.I wanted to give the effect that these shapes were floating in space. Once completed in Illustrator I saved file as a photoshop .psd with supported layers. I then proceeded to import  this into photoshop to develop the design further. I used various blending modes...overlay being my favourite to create lighting effects. I progress unitl I find the right lighting and textural effect that makes the image 'pop'.
The original sepia version (my favourite)
