The digital, printed, and physical deliverables for our first-ever Etsy Design Awards in Australia celebrated the creativity of the Etsy community. Etsy sellers were recognised for their work across six categories: Community’s Choice, New Talent, Business As Unusual, Art & Illustration, Home & Living, and Fashion & Accessories. The project aimed to be accessible, relatable, position the brand 'beyond craft', and ultimately acquire new Etsy sellers. Drawing inspiration from the Good Design movement, in particular the Ray and Charles Eames ‘House of Cards’ construction game, the Etsy Design Awards reflects a contemporary feel in it’s delivery using colour, typography, and supplementary graphic assets to distinguish each ‘pod’. The trophy itself reflects the spirit of the awards, culminating in something the winners could build themselves. The project was successful within our community, and has since been replicated in Etsy's Canadian Quebec and German markets. Read Less

The Etsy Design Awards celebrates the creativity of the Australian maker community, aiming to open up and acquire new sellers, as well as position the brand ‘beyond craft’. Etsy sellers were recognised for their work across six categories: Community’s Choice, New Talent, Business As Unusual, Art & Illustration, Home & Living, and Fashion & Accessories.
Drawing inspiration from the Good Design movement, in particular the Ray and Charles Eames ‘House of Cards’ construction game, the Etsy Design Awards delivers a contemporary aesthetic using colour, typography, and supplementary graphic assets to create a flexible and systematic approach. The trophy itself reflects the spirit of the awards; something the winners could build themselves.
Winner photography was further refined and developed with the help of Lauren Bamford and Jacinta Moore to reflect a contemporary lifestyle environment.
