Snacking is the future of eating. More and more people are replacing snacks with meals today than ever before. 
McCain is the largest manufacturer of frozen potatoes in the world, but they currently do not tackle the premium range market, which has become a major trend especially in the UK food and snack market. 
What is premium food? Is it only a question of paying more money for a nice packaging, or is it the quality of the ingredients higher? Real, quality premium foods are genuine: made with original products and original recipes of their location, such as PDO or PGI products.

For the first range of McCain premium snacks, I have designed one that uses only genuine, premium PDO Jersey Royal Potatoes, accompanied by typical British ingredients such as Wild Scottish Smoked Salmon, West Country Cheddar or Leek. The snack is designed for couples who want to spend a romantic evening together, by sharing skewers that break apart when consumed in two. The rolls are made with potato dough bread and filled with mashed potatoes, leek, salmon and a dark chocolate version for a sweet temptation, because a romantic evening is perfect only with a full, complete "mini-meal" snack.

The packaging, in poplar wood, contains dips that are a perfect accompainment to the rolls, using almost only typical British ingredients. Once the packaging is opened, the dips come off, whilst the central compartment may be baked in the oven, to give an even better taste to the rolls. Once cooked, the couple can enjoy eating their snack by breaking the skewer apart.
