initials sketches from life
converted to vector line drawing and made into polymer plate
played with the idea of embossing only, decided against it.
experimented with paper options, inks and positioning of figures
30 prints in the edition. Used the Kelsey to print the black ink after printing the gray/silver on the proof press.
final step of embossing P for Petunia on the Showcard press. Decided it needed a 3rd element for balance, variety and eye movement.
Final print on a beautiful Arches watercolor paper.. Intentionally changed the orientation of the cat napping to appear as if floating, as if in a dream state.
