Numbers are randomly generated in Excel and translated into lines in different directions. Each colors are separated onto different layers, so people can view them together and separately. This was inspired by Sol Lewitt's process of repeating a set of instructions. The instructions for this (written on the lower right corner) is: 3 lines from 3 random numbers that are computer generated in the form: 0.AB. A and B determines the directions. All lines are 1 inches. Layer 1 = 3 random numbers, layer 2 = 12 random numbers, layer 3 = 27 random numbers forming 1,4, 9 cubes respectively. A total of 222 numbers were exponentially generated.
Pen (18 x 24 in). A video of people eating was captured and motion-tracking was applied in After-Effected. Later the lines were traced down onto paper with a micron pen.
Gouche (24 x 24 in). Two objects were selected and blended in together using their common elements such as shapes and color. In this case the objects are a hair brush and a lotus seed.
