In hindu culture, the use of turmeric is very important, especially in wedding, prays and even cooking. The turmeric id dried and powdered with a bit of slacked lime, which turn the rich yellow powder into a red colour to kumkum.
Cucurma Process
1. First take turmeric powder and add water to make it a paste on the tray .
2. Then apply onto cotton fabric on one side.
3. After doing that, lay down on the table.
4. Next mix the slacked lime with seeds of any type or rice to create the effects on the fabric
5. One side of the fabric u can put any design stencil template on the fabric
6. Another side of the fabric you can put a wood divider for the control of the seeds pattens
7. Then take the mixed slacked lime with rice put in on the cotton fabric accordingly .
8 . For the stencil template use the dried slack lime powered and put on the pattens on the stencil template.
9. Let the slacked lime and turmeric dissolve onto the fabric for two hours.
10. After that, rinse well with water and let dry.
11. The results in the yellow and red dye effect on the fabric.
