The idea behind this is to allow veiled women a chance to show their emotions through their burqas. Not only will this benefit the veiled women by giving them the opportunity to express themselves without verbally having to do so, but it will also help other people understand how the veiled women are feeling.
I was really intrigued with the idea of eyebrows. The reason for this is the fact that there have been numerous studies than link emotions with eyebrows. When a person is feeling a certain way and expresses that emotion through a facial expression, the eyebrows always differ. Our eyebrows change when we cry, when we laugh, when we’re angry, when we’re afraid, and when we feel numerous other emotions. I wanted to take that and incorporate it into a burqa, without putting any veiled women outside of their comfort zone by asking them to show more skin than they’re comfortable showing.
