The Indian Ocean Naturalist is a citizen science project aimed to galvanize efforts of a series of diver operations to monitor the health of coral reefs embedded within recreational dive experiences.
The Indian Ocean Naturalist kit is a certification programme for recreational divers that comprises of 4 presentations and 4 data collection dives.
Participants receive a manual with information, underwater slates, ID material and a certificate on completion.
This kit is geared towards collecting data on biological indicators that reflect the health of coral reefs.
