The app functions through soundscape, whereby multiple sounds are played and the user must decide which phrase is being express through the sounds. The answer will reveal an interesting fact about the people, places surrounding the sealing of the Magna Carta. The instruction screen below shows how the this works.
To appeal to a younger audience (for thr purpose of school trips visiting the educational exhibiton) the functions of the game were within a creative narrative structure. This lead to the illustrations of the "Magna Carta man" (which can be seen the each picture), of which it was his 800th birthday and he was disappointed that no one got him a cake.
The Magna Carta Man guides the user through each question, to which each one answered correctly allows for you to gain a cake slice on the progression bar. Upon answering each of the questions correctly you are able to complete the game by giving the Magna Carta man a birthday cake!
The project was completed in time and during the presentation to the client was praised for its "thorough and original design".
