during my time as graphic designer for the University of Kansas Libraries.
The Libraries Exhibits Program is a collaborative effort based on the understanding that all creative endeavors in the KU community are complemented and reinforced by the rich collections of the libraries. The program’s goal is to highlight the strength of the libraries’ collections and resources and to promote the creative scholarship of our campus community. The Libraries Exhibits Program works in partnership with cultural venues on and off campus to highlight their rich resources and scholarship. Exhibition spaces in the KU Libraries can be found in Watson Library, Spencer Research Library and Murphy Art & Architecture Library.
In 2009, the exhibition space on Watson Third Floor West was transformed into the Library Gallery, the main gallery space of the Exhibits Program. The Library Gallery hosts two major collaborative exhibitions per year in the fall and the spring semesters. In 2014, the space was renamed the Haricombe Gallery in recognition of the nearly eight years of leadership by departing Dean Lorraine J. Haricombe. The naming was made possible by a consortium of donors, who contributed gifts in honor of Haricombe.
