The previous version of the Waltham Forest Football Club website had not been given an redesign since 2011, and was struggling to keep up with web standards.

 

Further to this, it used Joomla 2.5, which was becoming depreciated and support was not as good as it aught to be. Attempts were made to upgrade to Joomla 3.0, but these proved challenging at best, and the decision was made to migrate the entire website to WordPress.

 

The process of migrating almost ten years of articles was in fact pretty straight forward, using Frédéric Gilles' excellent Joomla to WordPress plugin. This help us move all our articles (including K2 articles) and our users too in about half an our - top work Frédéric!

 

The lovely, sporty Atletico font was chosen to replace the aeging Bebas Neue across the club's branding, and suits the website very well.
