The competition comes at the initiative of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Architecture by the necessity of the internal remodeling of the chapel at the University Hospital located in campus.
The hospital chapel is a hub within the building due to the relief needs of the people within the hospital and as a meeting point for people who constantly stays at the hospital.

Our proposal was focused on relocating the altar in the axis provided by the entrance of the chapel, which not only produces a landmark on the top floor because of the visibility from the outside but also it is capable of generating a dual space which one has an introspective character and the other is has the need to worship.
The design envisages a comprehensive approach that seeks to unify the design from furniture and architecture to implements of the ceremony. Having the ability to reshape the roof, the project uses the ceiling and light as a way to focus the altar, the use of warm materials is necessary due to the low temperatures that exist in the building and the design of the cross manages to integrate the baptismal font and religious landmark cross in one.
