Totem Paper Swatchbooks

This was done as a student project for a Production Design class. We were asked to make a swatchbook or series of swatchbooks for a paper company showcasing the different types of paper they offer, as well as a corresponding app. My concept was to do a series of swatchbooks for a fictional company based on Native American totem animals. The die cuts and related artwork are my own designs based on Pacific Northwest native artwork. The goal was to showcase the beauty of not only the paper, but also the animals that inspired this series and their habitats in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

All die cuts, special finishes, and assembly were done by hand.

The app design I proposed was a paper selection guide that would help the user select the ideal type of paper from the series by answering a few questions about their projects. The app would then recommend a paper type that would complement the project, after which the user had the opportunity to save the project and recommended paper for future reference as well as adding their own notes and comments to the project.
