Recording love through the washing of feet
A couple with a basin and feet symbolize two people becoming one, because the Bible says: For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)
Before the 1990s, most Chinese residents live in simple cottages and when it is a cold winter, a family washing feet with hot water before going to sleep at night will facilitate good rest. This is also a Chinese family tradition.
But after urbanization in China, most families have moved into apartments, and washing feet gradually fade out of people's lives.
Using a most casual moment – washing feet, to record Chinese love in the family.
