On Ben's suggestion we've adopted Amaro as a name for this magazine. Here's Ben's cover using a trashed up typgraphy..

I'm behind, shamelessly so. Instead of posting three or so entries every week before subittal, I hope you'll (my tutor) accept what I'll post from now on, during the last week.

 

Below is what I've done so far, focussing on page layout and image style.

Some basic page layout styles. Our group agreed on a three column grid that would allow for some flexible image and type box placement. So far it seems to be working. See some initial ideas above. 

We've taken a couple of popular designer magazines as our inspiraton. These feature a whitespace-heavy, subdued, low-contrast look with real focus on minimal content. Here's an example of an image I'll be using in my feature interview.
