China's Ageing Problem

This project is about the ageing population of rural China and the possible effects if this problem persists.
China is experiencing a massive boost in economy, it has remained the world leader in growth for almost a decade(even now although it has slowed).
In 2012 the urban populations surpassed the inhabitants of rural areas with many migrants moving to the cities in search of work, looking for the “Chinese dream”.
Many of these migrants are from working class families who can’t afford to bring their child to the city partly due to the cost of schools but also the Hukou (the system of household registration required by law) which means that children have no legal right to an education outside of their place of residence, which means that in most cases the child has to be left with the grandparents.
Most rural villages around Chongqing provence are occupied by the old or the very young; primary school age.
A major problem is the fact that in roughly ten years, when the older generation has passed, there will be a lack of labourers working the land, along with the death of the elderly, so too the generations of knowledge that has be past from parent to child.
