5 Days in Tainan, Taichung
In spring of twenty fifteen, I joined my family to visit Taiwan, a place we've been to before. However, this time we chose to drive from Tainan (southern Taiwan) to Taichung (central Taiwan) in five days. We crisscrossed through modern highways and rural side roads, stopping by counties and towns. We lunched at road side restaurants, and stopped by to see yellow flowers on Golden Trumpet trees in small parks. The road experience, while seemingly ordinary, was surprisingly eye opening. It introduced me to a Taiwan that I did not know before. Images selected for this volume captured my attempt to connect the place, the people and their everyday experiences.
