Sonoma Ranches Label Design (2014)
Stranger & Stranger is a renowned packaging design and branding company, specialising in alcoholic drinks. His work for clients such as Jack Daniels, Don Pope, Dewar's and others, has been awarded numerous times. So I was pleasantly surprised when they asked me to create the label for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay variations for Sonoma Ranches vineyard, in California.
The main idea was to produce a scene with a cold and mysterious atmosphere, in which a headless horseman appears every night to haunt the vineyards and steal the finest wines.
The biggest challenge was to recreate the exact scene as described on the brief: The horseman, his particular pose, the costumes, the animals and objects, the mountains, the redwoods (which are endemic to this region), the atmosphere, the grapes... everything using my collage technique!
This was a project that I really enjoyed; It made me realize that there are no limits when you test the possibilities of this technique.
