Box Project Reflection

            One source of inspiration a graphic designer could find an idea for their artwork is in everyday life. If you walk around the streets and hallways looking specifically for something for an idea for a project, you will most likely find something useful if you use your imagination along the way. If you want to portray adventure, go somewhere adventurous, if you want to portray beauty, go somewhere beautiful. One advantage would be that there are tons of different things you could build off of just by looking and walking around. Another is it doesn’t take time out of your day and schedule, you could go through your daily routine while coming up with ideas. One disadvantage would be that if you lack creativity, then it would be hard to look at something you see every day and make it into an idea. The world around us has millions of ideas to offer if you look closely enough.

            Another source of inspiration a graphic designer could find an idea for their artwork is your imagination. To be able to look at things and turn them into exciting creative ideas takes a good imagination. Using your imagination could create endless ideas, from something simple to something extremely complex and out of this world. Tons of different artists have to use their imagination every day, from rappers to toy designers, it is a very useful tool. One advantage to using your imagination is you can come up with things that you would never see in you daily life, and it could become a great idea. Another advantage is it doesn’t cost money or much time just to use your mind and imagine ideas. The disadvantage however, is if your imagination isn’t good then you won’t be able to come up with good, creative ideas. It isn’t always easy to use your imagination, but when you do, it can be an extremely useful tool.

            A final source of inspiration a graphic designer could find an idea for their artwork is researching. If you even come up with a fraction of an idea you could use the internet or books to research that portion of an idea and hopefully it will build and you will have a whole idea. You could look up pictures, articles, and videos. The advantage to researching is that it is always at your disposal and most people can almost always access a computer. Another disadvantage is that there is almost an unlimited amount of information on the internet and in books so you could be researching for hours until you find the perfect idea. One disadvantage to researching is the ideas that you could build off of are most likely ideas that have already been done which would cause your idea to be less original and creative which is what most graphic designers want. Even though it lacks originality, researching can help you build on and get a visual on creative ideas you come up with on your own.
