The Preying Mantis
This was my Final project for Iadt Dun Laoghaire. My concept was to make a half Alien/ Half machine hybrid and this is the result. The alien itself is made out of RTV C204 Silicone and the Walker carraige is made completely out of Wood and Resin. All the legs, pistons etc were carved, woodturned etc by myself and sanded to 2500 grit before priming and painting. The entire project took under 3 months to do and involved skills such as sculpting, molding, casting, silicone work, eye making, Woodturning, spraying and finishing etc.. This was my first venture into the world of silicone monsters and im very happy with how it turned out.
