Typography is an important tool to make type and text as well as written information in general logic and understandable.
It is exerted in books, magazines and brochures for hundreds of years. However these possibilities were missing on the Internet for a long time and the usage of type was limited in many ways.
Only recent developments made it possible to use typography on the web. Designers from all over the world now have a new repertoire of possible design solutions, so content can be edited better and more understandable. Especially in the age of new media it is essential to give everybody access to information and to facilitate it constantly.
The thesis „Webtypography“ analyses the methods behind webtypography, points out still existing problems and offers recommendations for designing.
