Social Awareness Campaign: Youth Without Shelter

These posters aim to raise awareness about homeless youth in Canada as a part of our project in our design class.
Pure typography was used as the overall concept of these posters.

Poster 1: This can be you.
-The main idea is, I took most of the negative thoughts that people normally think about homeless youth without knowing their struggle on their everyday lives. A pair of shoes was used as an imagery to imply the idea of trying to put the audience's feet in their situation in order to see what it feels like to be homeless.

Poster 2: These are all they ever want.
-Park benches are the most typical symbolism for raising awareness of homeless people. I took this idea but instead of using the park benches itself, I used typography and incorporate the words of what homeless people really needs (home, love, warmth, shelter, and to be understood) in order to create a more dramatic impact in order to raise awareness.

Poster3: They were once like you...
- Same idea but different point of view. I thought that homeless youth were also once like us.. Ordinary teenagers that used to dream of what they want to be when they grow up. So what I did is, I used some of the most typical career goals that most teenagers want to be when they grow up and put it on a silhoutte of a person to again, create a dramatic impact to the audience.
