Using two key parts about the book, the war and the fire, I produced a pattern that looked like army camouflage but also looked like fire. Once I had made the pattern I used this as the background. I then chose 13 items from the book and created silhouettes for them, I then placed them on the cover. I wrote the title on a burnt piece of paper and added the text on the back cover.
I believe that this outcome is bright and engaging for the target audience. The reader can enjoy finding the hidden items on the cover and when they read the book they will understand that the items are things mentioned within the book.
