I created this poster as a way to spark discussion in 2008 during the Beijing Olympics, specifically focusing on the unrest that took place in Tibet earlier that year and the ongoing censorship of anything on the internet or media that didn't adhere to the official Chinese government perspective. The shape behind the silhouette of the tree is a map of Tibet.
This was also printed in a Finnish middle-school social studies textbook, "Uusi Arkki 3", in the section about human rights. The caption reads "Nepalese born graphic designer Tenzing Gaychey tricks the eye of the censorship in his poster, which comments on the political situation of Tibet."
