Design, fabrication and installation of a series of Infographic artwork displayed in the neurological and development area.
For this project I worked together with digital artist Andrea Pazos (www.andreapazos.com)
The artwork on display is part of a series of commissions across the Sid Watkins Building. Underpinned by an overarching theme of connection, momentum, response the artwork have developed from the cogs of the Walton Way - a concep of connecting parts, many elements that work like clockwork to crate the whole. The idea of chain reactions, synapses, and connections is a theme across artworks, with individual approaches in each area. This links to both the neurological work within the Trust, and the concept of a new space within which many elements work together.
Two walls were designed for this project: Neuro System Wall and Portraits Wall. Alter months of research, consultations and collaborations with consultants and other staff at the Walton Centre, twelve diseases were selected for the Neureo System Wall and four diseas were selected for the Portraits wall, using digitally printed vinyl across the space. Accompanying texts were provided by consultants, as individual thoughts on the chosen conditions.
Collage, illustration, digital paint were some of the ways selected to represent what patients whit whitin these diseases. Through our personal visual world we also represent the scientific, visualizing real facts. We developed a personal style to explain diseases in a surreal, open minded, colourful, and we believe empowering way for the surrondings of training and development.
