David's wildlife painting take him to many animals, species and continents. Painting from his own reference photographs gathered from trips all over the world, his style includes both a detailed photographic feel and a  looser, more atmospheric illustration. Building pastel works up from broad strokes and refining the detail in the focul areas only leaving the basic initial stroke to show through and convey the vibrancy of the subject.
