The object of this brief was to create billboard print ads for a local home improvement company.
The company we chose was Wizard Home Improvements based in Newport. Before we came up with a concept, we wanted to create a new logo for the company as their current one didn’t necessarily work well when shrunk down and to our eye seemed a little amateurish.
We came up with this, which we created a coloured version using the existing brand colours as well as a monotone version which we would use in our print ads.
For our print ads, the concept was to play on the name ‘Wizard’ and their tagline ‘Give us a call, we do it all!’ by adding an element of the impossible. Instead of showing a finished project like most labourers do, we wanted to create the feeling of “this is too much to handle” in the adverts, giving the viewer a reason to have to call Wizard.
