City Walls App
The City Walls iPhone app offers a unique guide to the medieval history of Dublin City. Using the historic city wall as its framework, it blends graphics, videos, photos and breathtaking 3D animations to bring the medieval world to life like never before.
I created this map of the area around the Old City Walls especially for this project. Due to the location-based nature of a lot of the projects that we've done in Noho I've had to create and re-interpret a lot of maps to make them more suitable to the projects we do.
The app contains about ten of these still images which we rendered out of XSI. I then composited them and added grass, sky, texture and dirt. I finished the styling of the images by grading them all to give them a painted look.
The app also contains a scaled-down version of our Deep Zoom Image of Medieval Dublin, which I painted over and graded.
