This is a specimen book for a typeface I designed called Spitaels Display. Spitaels Display is an elegant calligraphic oldstyle display typeface, inspired by the work of José Mendoza y Almeida. It has a full set of capitals, select swashes, numbers, and punctuation. Unique attributes of the typeface are the disconnected bowls, legs, and tails, flat apexes, double letter ligatures, and dynamic swashes. The specimen book features the full glyph set showcasing the roman capitals versus the swashes as spreads, an infographic highlighting the unique attributes, and the dust jacket for the specimen book folds out into a specimen poster.
