SaferSpaces is an interactive platform. Run by and for community safety and violence prevention practitioners in South Africa, to connect, share knowledge and learn from each other.
The brief:
• To create an online platform that will showcase and support the aims of the SaferSpaces project.
• The design must reflect the vibrant South African communities while maintaining a serious and professional edge.
• It must be interactive, gather and maintain a strong social media presence.
• Help engage South Africans, in discussions on shared values of safety and violence prevention, through the documenting of cases studies.
Inspiration was drawn from the idea of how an ideal community should be structured safely, with platforms for creative & vocal expression. Circular devices, interconnecting reinforced the notion of security. community. The colour palette of forest greens is fresh and nurturing. The typography reflects safety, calmness & power.
