John Sulzbach, a resident of Killingworth, CT, works as plant manager for Astroseal Products. Located just 10 miles away from Killingworth in nearby Chester, CT, the company produces lightning protection equipment for the aerospace industry. Also active in arboriculture, John Sulzbach received his arborist license in 2013 and belongs to several tree-related organizations, including the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).

Founded in 1924, the ISA began as the Connecticut Tree Protection Examining Board, where members discussed shade tree problems and determined possible solutions. Changing its name in 1976, the ISA works to increase understanding of trees and tree care through research and educational methods.

Each year the ISA hosts an international conference, with the 2015 event scheduled for August 8-12 in Kissimmee, Florida. The event’s theme is Where the Trees Meet the Seas. As the premier gathering for arboricultural professionals, including urban foresters and arborists, the event features latest in technology, research, and innovations made within the industry. Attendees can partake in educational sessions, visit the trade show, and learn from tree academy workshops.
