Inspired by Emoticons and the Emoji keyboard, this piece is based on narrative language of the modern age. From the random assortment and arrangement of icons, the combination and meaning of the icons in my piece is up to the individual to decide. Much like todays speechless and wordless communication through various forms of instant messaging and social media, the Emoji keyboard of icons is vastly becoming another visual codex and language we speak and understand. Similar to the existing keyboard with selected icons, my piece presents a random array of icons that have no specific connection to each other, the meaning and purpose is for the intent and use of the user.
