Sut Family Chinese Tea

This is a Chinese tealeaves and tea bag packaging targeted to Western cultures. This container is a teapot and Chinese lantern look-a-like. The container has six slots. Three slots contain an opening. When consumers pull the red tab located on the side panels of the teapot, it becomes a snout. Consumers can hold the handle and pour out the tealeaves into their cups. The other three slots in the container hold the look-a-alike fortune cookie teabags. Each look-a-alike fortune cookie has a small envelope that reveals an inspiration quote. Two wooden coasters can be pulled out from the wooden base.

Thinking about sustainability, this product is made with recycled paper and wood materials. This product can be re-used over and over again. Consumers has the option to re-use the container for tealeaves and tea bags or other products such as, seasoning powders, candies, little trinkets etc.

To the Western culture, fortune cookies are an icon for the Chinese cultures and since this is a Chinese tea package, it is a suitable idea to relate to the product. The red colour means good fortune in the Chinese culture and the container’s main colour is red representing luck, which also relates to the fortune cookie. The floral pattern on the container and the booklet about Chinese tea is a Camellia flower - a flower that began the Chinese tea history.
